DESCRIPTION:Habitat for Humanity’s mission is to bring people together to build homes\, foster community\, and instill hope\, all while striving toward a vision in which everyone has a decent place to live. Upon completion of this course\, students will have a thorough understanding of Habitat for Humanity of the Northwoods and its impact on surrounding communities. Students will explore: \n\nHabitat for Humanity’s structure as a local\, national\, and international organization\nThe historical context of Habitat\, both locally and nationally\nThe principles of homeownership\nCurrent building projects in Rhinelander and Sayner – Home design considerations\nThe Habitat ReStore\, which serves as a home improvement retail outlet\nOpportunities for involvement with Habitat for Humanity\n\nCo-instructor Dave Havel is the executive director at Habitat for Humanity of the Northwoods. \nCo-instructor Ann Sorensen is the current construction manager for Habitat for Humanity of the Northwoods and has a long history with the organization\, including serving as a board member and an AmeriCorps volunteer. \nFeUniversity is offering a unique opportunity to learn more about this important organization. \nAll About Habitat for Humanity – Fe University \nWednesday\, December 3rd from 1 – 3 PM at Northwood Unitarian University Fellowship. \nAdditional information and registration are found HERE. \n \n  \n
