The Mercer Public Library is proud to host the Discovery Center Knowledge at Noon series.
On Wednesday, May 3, 2023 the feature will be SALAMANDERS.
You will learn about the different species of salamanders that call Wisconsin home!
Join North Lakeland Discovery Center Naturalist Hannah Gargrave and her two pet tiger salamanders in learning about these neat amphibians, their adaptations, and the habitats in which they live.
Hannah received her B.S. from UW-Stevens Point in Wildlife Ecology and Management and has since lived in Mercer, working as a technician for Iron County Land and Water Conservation Department and Forestry Department performing a variety of ecological surveys. Her education and experience is rooted in Wisconsin, and she has strong ties to the area because she’s been coming to the Turtle Flambeau Flowage on vacation since she was a kid.
This program is part of the Discovery Center’s Knowledge at Noon series, which brings naturalists to public libraries around the Center’s service area.
All are welcome to attend the free program.
Donations to the Discovery Center are appreciated.
