Back by popular demand and this time online for your socially-distanced viewing enjoyment… Join us online for our first “Tech from Home” program!
Want to “cut the cord” or “ditch the dish” and start streaming your media? Curious about how to make one or all of those streaming services work for you? Librarian Teresa Schmidt will lead an introduction to streaming media. You’ll learn about some of the many services out there – Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube TV, Hulu, Sling TV, AT&T Now, and more. We’ll also look at the equipment and internet service you’ll need to watch your favorite movies, shows, and live events on your TV.
We’ll be sharing this class online via GoToMeeting. If you’ve never used GoToMeeting before, you’ll need to install the program on your computer. Join a few minutes before the class starts to give yourself time to do that. Visit the library’s website for the GoToMeeting login information: http://mercerpubliclibrary.org/event/ditch-the-dish-streaming-media-101-2/
We’re giving away a door prize: a Roku Streaming Stick+! Just watch the class live online or watch the recorded version (we’ll post the link once it’s available) before Sunday, April 12 at 6:00 p.m. CDT. There will be instructions in the class on how to enter.
Door prize rules: Only one prize will be given away, and please, only one entry per person. The door prize entry is only available to those who reside in the Northern Waters Library Service area: Iron, Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Sawyer, Vilas, and Washburn counties. The winner will be drawn at random from all correct entries. The prize will be mailed to the winner.
This class is free and open to all. Bring your questions!
