The Mercer Library Evening Book Club will read ‘Born a Crime: Stories from a South African childhood’ by Trevor Noah for our June 2020 meeting.

This #1 New York Times bestseller has been called a “compelling, inspiring, and comically sublime story of one man’s coming-of-age, set during the twilight of apartheid and the tumultuous days of freedom that followed.” Noah was awarded a 2018 Audie Award for Best Male Narrator for the audiobook edition, and the book received a 2017 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work.

Copies of the book will be available through curbside service at the library. You can place a hold for the book or book on CD in our Merlin catalog or give us a call at 715-476-2366. We also have a young readers edition available for younger readers. Digital copies are available through the Wisconsin Digital Library.

All are welcome to join us!

Please note the changed date: due to a schedule conflict, our June book club meetings will be on the 2nd Tuesday of the month instead of the usual 1st Tuesday.

The meeting is currently planned for an online discussion via GoToMeeting, depending on current health department orders related to Covid-19. Stay tuned for updates, and visit our website at www.mercerpubliclibrary.org/events for a link to the online meeting.
