Come out and enjoy the big screen adaption of the popular Young Adult novel, of the same name, by SE Hinton, who wrote the book when she was only 16 and created the YA literary genre.

The Outsiders is set in 1965 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The work tells the story of two rival gangs try to navigate the city when one gang member dares to dream for more and  all hell breaks loose!

This movie gave a huge career boost to some young actors- Patrick Swayze, Tom Cruise, Matt Dillon, Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Diane Lane, Leif Garrett, Tom Waits, and Ralph Macchio. Melanie Griffith makes a brief appearance in one of her first movies.

It took a school librarian and her students to convince director Francis Ford Coppola to make the movie.

Come out to the Historic Ironwood Theatre on Friday, July 7, 2023 and enjoy this landmark film.

TICKETS are: $8 adults / $5 youth only at the door, cash or credit card.

The film is rated PG. Subject matter in not appropriate for young children (language, violence, smoking & alcohol).

The film is sponsored by the Iron Range GSA.
