Spend a quartet of Tuesdays getting well-acquainted with a quartet of history’s greatest painters!
Beginning Oct. 8, and held weekly through Oct. 29, the Fe University course “Great Masters of Western Painting” will introduce you to a wide range of great paintings by the Dutch Master, Rembrandt van Rijn; J.M.W. Turner, Britain’s greatest and most complex painter; the master of Impressionism, Claude Monet; and the passionate Vincent van Gogh, whose life was cut short by suicide. Instructor David Barnhill will also highlight their stylistic development over time.
The four sessions will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. in the meeting room of the Mercer Public Library. The only requirement is to have an interest in art–and these four sessions promise plenty to pique that interest!
Registration for this course is $45 (save $5 if you register by Sept. 24). Register online and learn more about the class at https://feuniversity.org/class/great-masters-of-western-painting-rembrandt-turner-monet-and-van-gogh/2024-10-08/
