NICER-Northern Iron County Engaged Residents, Extension Iron County, Hurley Area Chamber and community volunteers are organizing the 2nd annual Hygge [Hoo-ga] Hike!
This is a FREE community snowshoe hike with a goal of bringing awareness to the great snowshoe and ski trails that the City of Montreal has to offer! Donations will be accepted to benefit the Penokee Rangers, Inc., who care for the trails on a volunteer basis.
The afternoon will include a 1.5 mile casual snowshoe hike through a portion of the Historic Montreal Ski Trails! Participants are asked to park at the Montreal City Hall where they will be shuttled to the trail head behind Rose Wreath.
The Hurley Chamber is planning a fun trail activity and Extension Iron County’s community snowshoes will be available to use for FREE! Hot beverages will be available at the trail head during the hike and at the Montreal City Hall. The hike will be taking place between 1:00-3:00 pm.
Whether you are participating in the snowshoe hike or not, EVERYONE is welcome to join us for a chili cook off at the Montreal City Hall from 1:00-4:00 pm. Stop by anytime to vote for the best chili recipe. $10 admission to sample and vote for a winner. Details to enter your chili recipe coming soon.
