SUMMARY:Introduction to Relief Printing Class
DESCRIPTION:Our final new class of the summer is Introduction to Relief Printing.\n\nJoin Downtown Art Place on June 29 for this exciting lesson!\n\n\nRelief printing dates back thousands of years — Chinese woodblock printing goes back to at least the 7th century AD.\n\nIn Europe\, woodcuts became central to book illustration and the spread of information after Gutenberg. Artists like Albrecht Dürer\, Hokusai\, and later Picasso used the medium to great effect.\n\n\n\nImportant note for this class: Come prepared with a 4×6″ drawing that we will draw on our relief blocks. From there\, we will carve our blocks.\n\nYou will learn how to ink a plate\, how to mix and prepare the ink for printing\, how to print your block and how to sign your prints.\n\n\nSign up now at www.bookeo.com/DAP_classes
