Join ICORE – Iron County Outdoor Recreation Enthusiasts – for their annual meeting on Tuesday, October 26th at 6:00 pm at the Mercer Community Center.  ICORE will be sharing news of 2020/2021 activities, electing new board members and officers, and making plans for the coming year.

Also that evening, enjoy a free presentation by Mike Meyer on “The Status of Loons in Wisconsin – What’s Known and What’s at Risk.”  The program will begin at 7:15 p.m. following the annual meeting.

Meyer retired from the Wisconsin DNR as a natural resource scientist after 25 years of research in the Northern Highlands, including in-depth studies of our breeding loon population.  Hear what he and other scientists have learned about the current state of loons in Wisconsin and the risks they face going forward.  Learn what you can do to safeguard our loons for future generations!

The ICORE annual meeting is open to the public, and anyone interested in silent sports in the northwoods is encouraged to attend. Only current ICORE members will be allowed to vote during the meeting (membership renewals can be made on ICORE’s website).
