SUMMARY:Ojibwe Beaded Earrings Workshop with Ramona Morrow
DESCRIPTION:Join Ojibwe artist Ramona Morrow and learn traditional beadworking skills as you craft your own beaded earrings during this special workshop. Not only will you learn to make and fashion your own jewelry using traditional Ojibwe methods\, but you’ll also get an inside look at how Indigenous cultures in and around Madeline Island have created\, used\, and implemented various forms of art in the past and today. \nRamona Morrow is a Member of the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Great Lakes Chippewa and descendant of Yankton Sioux who lives on the Lac Courte Oreilles reservation near Hayward\, Wisconsin. Ramona has been a member of the Indian Arts and Crafts Association\, and has showcased her work at a variety of Indigenous markets\, art galleries and fairs. Morrow has taught Beading\, Traditional Native Techniques\, and Native American History since 2017 at Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe University. \nMorrow’s artwork incorporates the Ojibwe Floral of the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe tribe—techniques she loves passing on to others\, including her children and grandchildren. \nLearn more HERE.
