Experience the wonders of natural dying, as master dyer Dawn Andersson of Calumet shares the secrets of turning white wool into a rainbow of different colors, using local plants and other dyes from nature. Watch as she pulls skein after skein of locally grown sheep’s wool from eight bubbling dye vats, each a different vibrant color. See how the wool yarn is then woven into beautiful cloth by Lanse weaver Phyllis Frendendall. Pure magic! This event is free and open to the public. Located in Site 18 of the Miner’s Memorial Heritage Park. Come join us!
