SUMMARY:Love Letters
DESCRIPTION:Theatre North announces multiple casts for Love Letters. For three weekends leading up to Valentines Day Theatre North will present Love Letters\, a play about Andy and Melissa\, whose constantly shifting relationship plays out completely in the letters they have written to each other beginning in second grade and ending several decades later.A finalist for the Pulitzer Prize\, A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters pays tribute to the enduring relationship\, sometimes contentious and often tender\, between two very different people. Andy Ladd is conservative\, thoughtful and most at home in the written word; Melissa Gardner is impulsive\, artistic and unorthodox.Veteran director\, Cindy Franck cast three couples to play the roles. Each couple will perform on one weekend. On January 31 and February 1\, Susie and Sam Fillippo will be featured in the play. Followed by Judi Yatchak and Ken Saari the first weekend in February and the final weekend features Helen Fashbaugh and Bruce Greenhill on February 13 and 14.Franck originally directed the show in 1992 alongside Jerry Lauzon “As a director it is fun to experiment with a new angle and I find this play supple enough to lend itself to a variety of different pairings and interpretations”\, said Franck.A live concert of love songs will also be performed beginning one half hour before each performance. The play is sponsored by the Iron Nugget. \nTicket information is available HERE.
