Emberlight’s Main Stage brings the special opportunity for residents and visitors to see acclaimed professional performers in the Upper Peninsula. This year’s program will feature the immortal music and lyrics of one of America’s greatest composers, Stephen Sondheim.
Starring Broadway performers and Juilliard-trained musicians, “Broadway Under the Stars” will celebrate Sondheim’s enduring contribution not only to the American musical theater, but to our general culture for nearly seven decades. Featuring favorite numbers from hit shows including West Side Story, Gypsy, Company, and Sweeney Todd, this fresh revue of Sondheim’s genius is sure to entertain young and old.
“Broadway Under the Stars” features Emily Koch (Broadway’s Wicked and Waitress), Philip Stoddard (Signature Theatre, New York Theatre Workshop), Miles Mykkanen (The Metropolitan Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper), and is directed by Colton Pometta (Sun Valley Shakespeare, Broadway au Carré) and musical direction by John Arida (Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center).
