The Mercer Library will host its 3rd annual Earth Day Fair on Saturday, April 27th at 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Mercer Community Center. The event features information and activities for all ages and much more.

DOOR PRIZES: All attendees will be entered to win a rain barrel, reusable shopping bags, reusable kitchen bags, and reusable produce bags.

RECYCLING: Courtesy of Trig’s recycling center in Minocqua, we will be offering FREE recycling of alkaline batteries and, new this year, small electronics! We can accept computers and peripherals, printers, scanners, etc. Sorry, we cannot accept large TVs or monitors.

REFRESHMENTS: Snacks will be provided by the Friends of the Library and served by the Mercer Leos. All donations will benefit the Leos and their projects.

INFORMATION TABLES will be sponsored by many area organizations including ICORE – Iron County Outdoor Recreation Enthusiasts, UW-Extension Iron County, Loony Pedalers, North Country Trail Association Heritage Chapter, Woods & Blooms Garden Club, Northwoods Wildlife & Wetlands Club, Iron County Land & Water Conservation Department, Williams Electric & Mechanical, Wisconsin DNR Private Landowner program, Mercer Area Chamber of Commerce, MECCA X-Country Ski Club, Mercer Seed Library, and more.

POSTER CONTEST: All K-12 students and preschoolers are invited to submit a poster for our first Earth Day poster contest. The Friends of the Library are sponsoring cash prizes in three age categories.
