Saturday, June 23 at 7pm, The Garland City Consort is a relatively new orchestra formed in Ashland to provide performances of wonderful baroque music throughout northern Wisconsin and Michigan’s western UP. This chamber orchestra from the Chequamegon Bay area returns to the Historic Ironwood Theatre with music by Vivaldi, Telemann, Graupner, and Handel.
The name “consort” is a late renaissance to early baroque term, meaning a “…random assemblage of instruments.” The newly formed group is composed of musicians who range in age from teens to seniors.
