WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
The process of “getting a grant” can be tedious and challenging to navigate. Each funder sets their own eligibility criteria for grant applicants and applying for and receiving grants can be a difficult, time-consuming process. The outcome of a grant application is largely dependent on the application’s strengths and the organization’s proven impacts. In this workshop, you will be given key insight into what funders are looking for in grant proposals, as well as tips on what to avoid. You will learn techniques to help make the writing process less overwhelming as you prepare to write grants.
HOW WILL YOU LEARN?
Workshop webinars are offered live, virtually via Zoom. The workshop meets for 1 hour and 15 minutes. The first 45 minutes will offer a presentation of best practices identified by researchers and practitioners. The last 30 minutes will offer a discussion session, during which participants can ask the instructor questions and share their own experiences with fellow participants about what has worked and has not worked for them. This is a great opportunity to collaborate with and gain insight from professionals from many different industries!
You do not have to attend the live event to get the workshop information. Each registration comes with access to a recording of the program for two weeks. We know you’re busy… if you can’t attend, you can still view on your own time.

Andrea Newby
Executive Director of the Gogebic Range Health Foundation
Andrea has a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Organizational Management with nearly ten years of experience in community and organizational program planning, development and sustainability. Through her tenure in nonprofit management, Andrea has gained extensive knowledge in both writing and reviewing grant proposals. Most recently, she co-led the Demystifying Grant Proposals program at Gogebic Community College.
