The Ni-Miikanaake Chapter of the North Country Trail Association’s July hike will travel to Trap Falls in the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park.
The approximately 4.5-5 mile hike will depart from the Government Peak Trail Head on the 107th Engineers Memorial Highway shortly after 10 a.m. CT/11 a.m. ET. on Saturday, July 29, 2023.
Everyone is welcome to join the hike, as are well-behaved dogs on leashes.
Be advised the hike does feature some mud/standing water so participants may get their shoes a bit wet and as always, bug spray/head nets are advised.
To reach the trail head from the Ironwood area take U.S. 2 to M-28, take M-28 to M-64, travel north on M-64 to the 107th Engineering Memorial Highway and travel east until you reach the Government Peak Trail Head. The trail head should be approximately 3.5 miles west of the intersection of M-64 & Hwy 107.
