Iron County Online: Making Place with Remote Work

  • This event has passed.

After the challenges of 2020 and opportunities thereafter, more people are seeing why remote work makes for a great lifestyle in the northwoods!  Iron County partners invite area remote workers to chime in for an hour of virtual conversation on Wednesday, June 23 from noon to 1pm CST.  Register in advance at tinyurl.com/IronOnline.

Iron County, Wisconsin has spent the last 10 years expanding broadband availability in its communities.  Still, much remains unexplored about how the rise of remote work in Iron County and the surrounding area can encourage communities and residents to thrive.

Join us to meet other remote workers in the area and enjoy a discussion about remote work and “placemaking” – we’ve all heard it but do we know what it means?  We’ll share introductions and a brief overview of Iron County’s broadband development, then build a shared understanding of placemaking to consider how remote work can support making Iron County a great place to live, work and play!

This virtual conversation is hosted by the Iron County Economic Development Zone, the Mercer Public Library, and UW-Madison Extension Iron County.  Call Amy in the Extension Iron County office at 715-561-2695 for questions or more information.
