The Mercer Public Library is excited for the return of their annual Earth Day Fair!  All are welcome to join on Saturday, April 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to learn more about what can be done to promote sustainable living. The event will feature speakers, booths from organizations and businesses throughout the Northwoods, and hands-on activities for all ages.

If your organization or business would like to participate, please contact the Mercer Library at 715-476-2366 or email director@mercerpubliclibrary.org. There is no charge to be a part of the fair, and we encourage anyone who promotes sustainable living to participate. This could include local agriculture businesses; environmental education groups; organizations working to reduce the spread of invasive species or to promote sustainable resource management; businesses specializing in local, sustainable products; and much more.

Confirmed attendees and activities at the Earth Day Fair:

  • April Hepokoski of Zero-Waste Duluth will make a virtual appearance at 12:00 p.m. to talk about how you can reduce your environmental impact with zero waste living. April runs the Zero-Waste Duluth Facebook page, blogs at Zero Waste Nature School, and is a contributing author of Zero Waste Kids by Rob Greenfield. April’s virtual appearance will be broadcast in the Friends of the Library room in the library.  If you can’t make it to our Earth Day Fair, you can still hear April’s talk by logging into the Zoom presentation at 12:00 p.m. at us02web.zoom.us/j/83269461939.
