There will be an ORV Safety Education/Certification Course, April 13, 2024

To register online perspective student must create an account at https://michigan.storefront.kalkomey.com
Click on sign up to create an account and register for the course.
Once Registered online with Kalkomey you must email the contact and set a time to pickup of class materials.
Please put “2024 MDNR ORV” course in the subject.
Handbooks are to be picked up at least one week before the Course and the “Chapter Quizzes” at the end of the Handbook must be completed prior to the Class.
The main purpose of the ORV safety education course is to educate and develop safe, knowledgeable and responsible ORV owners and operators.

Topics covered include correct riding techniques, protective equipment, understanding terrain and trail operation, Laws and Regulations, causes and prevention of crashes, and environmental concerns and reporting responsibility.

Michigan Residents, ORV operators under the age of 16 years old riding on public or private land are required to pass an approved ORV Safety course and carry their ORV Certificate at all times when riding.
Wisconsin Residents. The Certificate from Michigan is honored by WDNR.
An ORV Safety Certificate is required for all ORV riders in Wisconsin who were born after January 1, 1988 and are at least 12 years of age who operate on public land.
Michigan’s ORV Safety Education course is FREE and taught by a dedicated core of certified Volunteer Instructors, Michigan Conservation Officers and Sheriff’s Deputies.
About the Class:
• In person, traditional classroom setting
• Written test (75% or better to pass)
• Check-in: 7:15 – 7:30am
• Class starts at 8 am to 4:00pm. Central Time.
Open to all ages. Students under 10 years of age, or those with learning disabilities, or other special needs, shall be accompanied by a parent or guardian or another adult, designated by the parent or guardian, during the course.
