North Country Trail – Trail Maintenance Session. We’ll meet at the Black River Harbor parking lot at 9 am Central. Plan to go east about 2-3 miles, trimming, brushing and cutting trees across the path. We expect 5-6 hours total. This is an out-and-back expedition, so anyone can leave and go back to the parking lot at any point.

We will focus will be on trimming, brushing, and cutting blowdowns in an area of the trail which has not received a lot of recent attention. If anyone has a light string trimmer, that will be helpful. We’ll bring the Chapter heavier trimmers. We’ve recently been notified of many blowdowns (logs over the trail) in this area so participation by certified sawyers would be welcome.
September is off to a cool start; however, the long-term forecast is calling for temperatures in the 60s. As always, please be sure to bring water and snacks and consider bringing bug repellent and a head net.
