🌲🛠️ Volunteers Needed! Help Us Care for the North Country Trail 🥾
The Ni-Miikanaake (NMK) Chapter of the North Country Trail is looking for volunteers to join us for two trail work days:
📅 Friday, September 18 & Saturday, September 19
🕗 8:00 a.m. CT / 9:00 a.m. ET – approximately 2:00 pm CT / 3:00 p.m. ET
📍The location should be CR-519 Trailhead, north of Wakefield on CR-519
We’ll be working to keep the trail safe, beautiful, and enjoyable for everyone. Work will include:
🌿 Brushing back overgrown vegetation
🌲 Removing downed trees
🥾 Trail maintenance east and west of the trailhead
📍 Extra attention to a 1-mile section near mile marker 44
What to Bring
💧 Water
🥪 Food/snacks
🦟 Insect repellent
🌧️ Rain gear
🧤 Work gloves
We’ll have equipment available, but feel free to bring your own loppers or weed whackers if you have them.
🚗 Parking is available at the CR-519 Trailhead, with overflow parking along CR-519
Whether you’re a longtime trail volunteer or would like to try trail work for the first time, we’d love to have you join us! Come lend a hand and help care for the North Country Trail. 🌲🥾
