Initiated by a $50,000 donation from Dr. Renee Semo Hartz, the City of Ironwood was part of a crowd funding campaign to raise an additional $50,000 for the Hiawatha Park Playground.
The fundraised money was also matched by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation for the construction of the $150,000 park.
The City of Ironwood would like to recognize Dr. Renee Semo Hartz, Ironwood-Hurley Rotary Club, along with many more who donated to the cause.
A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the newly constructed playground at Hiawatha Park in the Norrie Neighborhood of Ironwood will take place at on July 20, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Hiawatha Park.
