Join the Ni-Miikanaake Chapter of the North Country Trail for a hike and cookout at the Presque Isle River in the Porcupine Mountains (Porkies) on Saturday, September 12!
📍 Meet: Presque Isle River Parking Area
🕙 Meet-up: 10:00 a.m. CST
🥾 Hike begins: Approximately 10:20 a.m. CST
📏 Distance: About 3 miles
We’ll shuttle hikers from the parking area to the Speaker’s Trailhead and hike approximately 3 miles back to the Presque Isle River Parking Area.
The trail is mostly flat, with a larger ravine near the end. Fall colors should be starting to appear, making this a great time to enjoy the beauty of the Porkies! 🍂🌲
After the hike, we’ll wrap up the day with a cookout, potluck, and plenty of laughs. 🌭🥗😄

📍 Directions
From the intersection of Hwy 2 and M-28 in Wakefield, go east on M-28. Just out of Wakefield, turn north onto Hwy 519 and follow it all the way to the end in the Porcupine Mountains. The day-area parking lot is on the right at the very end.
